A formal teaching license isn't required, but we look for true subject-matter expertise and a genuine ability to connect with students in a group setting. We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including artists, coaches, college students, and professionals, who can meet that bar.

Class Instructor and Site Director roles require prior classroom experience and confidence managing a group of children on your own, since these positions carry direct responsibility for the classroom.

Classes meet for about an hour, once a week, over a 9–12 week session each season. We ask instructors to arrive 15 minutes early to help manage students as they arrive and settle in and to stay a few minutes after class to help with dismissal—it's a small piece of the role but an important one! We also offer half-day and extended-day programs, where the time commitment can vary depending on the school's needs.

You'll be paid as an independent contractor, and our rates are above the typical rate for this kind of work because we believe great instructors are worth investing in. Exact pay depends on your role and class type, and we're happy to walk you through specifics once we know which position you're a fit for.

We'll ask for fingerprint clearance and references before you head on-site—we'll guide you through every step, so it never feels like a hurdle. Reimbursement is provided after your first class with us. (Active school district staff are typically excused from the fingerprint requirement.)

Once your interview and background clearance are complete, we'll either place you in an upcoming session or add you to our active candidate pool—so you're ready to step in for substitutions or our next session.
