Young makers will explore the science behind building as they design, measure, and create hands-on wood projects. Students will learn basic tool safety and construction skills while discovering how physics, engineering, and creativity come together in every design.

 

About the Curriculum Writer:

Amy is a passionate teacher and mom of three young children. She attended Southern CT State University, earning a BS in Elementary Education, BA in Psychology, MA in Education and sixth year degree in Educational Leadership. She has 13 years of teaching experience as a classroom teacher and instructional math coach. She is passionate about real-world learning and engaging students in lessons that are relative, appropriate, and fun! She currently teaches STEAM in Madison, CT. In her free time, she enjoys sailing, paddle-boarding, tennis, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends.
